Cable Integration Floating Wind (2019)

Project description:

Much of the offshore wind resource potential in France, Japan, United States, Norway, and many other countries is available in water areas deeper than 50m. So far, almost all wind turbines are installed on a bottom founded structure, such as a monopile or a jacket. These technologies are not economically feasible in deeper waters. However, at some depth (>50m), floating support structures will be more economical.

ARC’s scope of work:

Perform a study on cable integration w.r.t. floating wind

1.Floating Wind Market Study

The need for floating wind

The size of floating wind market

Trends in the market

Used technology

Projects and concepts

Barriers

2. Mapping of existing floating wind projects/concepts.
