DISA – Sea Worker Salvage

The four-legged self-elevating unit SEA WORKER was under tow when the tow line broke. Two of her four anchors were lost before it was decided to take the ground with her legs lowered and for the crew to abandon the Vessel.

During a period of adverse weather, the Vessel capsized and became a Constructive Total Loss.

OI Scope:

DISA has contracted Offshore Independents to execute the following structural engineering and drafting support to its tender proposal:

  • Conceptual method statement of the recovery procedure.
  • An elaborate set of drawings supporting this method statement
  • Several structural calculations to estimate the winch capacity.
